What a wonderful start to the year. The children have worked really hard and are settling into their new routines.
Your child will bring home their book bag each Friday. This will contain a folder with their ‘reading for enjoyment’ book and a reading record, where you can make comments about how he / she felt or things they noticed about the book. Book bags should be returned to school after the weekend and no later than Wednesday, so they can be checked and prepared for the following Friday.
Your child has a fresh Seesaw account and once you sign into the Seesaw Class App, which is free, you will find a few photos of your child’s first week at school. There is a letter, also in your child’s book bag, giving you a new code to access Seesaw. We will be posting short homework talk tasks on Seesaw in the future and look forward to seeing your child’s responses to these each week. These will form part of their learning journey at St. Aidan’s.
Just a couple of reminders:
· Please label your child’s clothes clearly;
· Make sure your child brings a coat and their water bottle to school each day;
· We have yoga on a Wednesday and PE on a Friday. Your child does not need a PE kit but please practise putting on socks and shoes.
Finally, we would like to invite you to attend a meeting in school to talk about our phonics programme and how we can work together to help your child to learn to develop their early reading skills. This meeting will be held in Reception at the end of the school day on Tuesday 21st September at 3.10pm and will last for about 30 minutes. Your child will be cared for by Mrs Rennie during the meeting time.
Thank you for your continued support,
Mrs Purvis and Miss Conroy.
